Shannon Adams
Shannon began her career in the construction industry in 2006, progressing from a Site Clerk to her current role as Senior Director, Project & Development Services at Canderel. She leads all new mixed-use high-rise residential condo construction projects in Toronto. Her experience spans development management and construction project management, having held roles including Project Coordinator, Project Manager, and Development Manager.
Shannon is actively involved in industry associations and strongly supports mentorship and networking. She has served on the Real Stories Events Committee since 2023 and regularly attends events hosted by NAIOP, ULI, BILD, TCA, and CAWIC. -
Taylor Dayala Escutin
Taylor Dayal-Escutin is a Project Manager within the Development Construction team at RioCan REIT, where she oversees a variety of complex projects, including The Well. With 6 years of experience in the real estate and construction industry, she brings valuable expertise to each project she manages.
In addition to her role at RioCan REIT, Taylor has been an active member of the MaKin Foundation committee, focusing on organizing and coordinating events to support the foundation's mission. Taylor’s dedication to community outreach and event planning plays a key role in raising awareness and fostering engagement within the organization.
Taylor is also a member of NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association.

Christian Peterson
Christian is a professional engineer and real estate developer with 18 years of experience. He is currently a Director at Podium Developments and has led over $1 billion in real estate projects through roles at Oxford Properties and Empire Communities. With a background in engineering from McMaster and an MBA in Real Estate & Infrastructure from Schulich, he blends technical expertise with strategic leadership, focusing on zero carbon development.
Christian co-founded the RealStories program, serves on the MaKin Foundation fundraising committee, and is active in ULI and NAIOP, where he sits on the Corporate DEI Committee. He also led the Schulich Real Property Alumni Association for nine years.

Madeline Hicks
Madeleine Hicks is Associate Director, Development at Oxford Properties, specializing in residential development. With 11 years of experience in the commercial real estate and development (CRED) industry, she brings deep expertise in managing complex projects from concept to execution.
Madeleine has been actively involved with the MaKin Foundation since its early stages in 2022 and currently serves as Co-Head of the Scholarship Committee for the MaKin Impact Scholarship. She is also a member of ULI and NAIOP, and previously contributed to the Toronto CREW Scholarship Committee.

Roselyn D’Ascanio is a seasoned real estate marketing professional with 10 years of experience.
At Salthill, she leads national marketing efforts and strategy. She serves on ICSC Committees, oversees marketing for The MāKin Foundation, and was named an ICSC and Connect Canada Next Gen Leader for 2023–2024. -

Madeline Hicks

Zwe Naing
Zwe is a Director of Marketing for the Ted Rogers Real Estate Association. Zwe is an emerging student in the real estate industry with a strong interest in residential development. A third-year Global Business Management student at Toronto Metropolitan University who previously held the role of VP of Marketing at TRREA and now contributes to the MaKin Foundation as a Marketing Associate.
Eager to learn and grow in the field, Zwe is focused on gaining hands-on experience and deepening industry knowledge, with a long-term goal of building a meaningful career in real estate.
